The 10th OLD EDWARDIAN DOUBLES WARGAMES CHAMPIONSHIPS for the Ancients period shall be held at the Old Edwardian Society, 11 Ninth Avenue, Lower Houghton, Johannesburg, on 12 & 13 SEPTEMBER 2009.

This is the only official doubles competition held in the country, and is growing both in stature and popularity from year to year.

This championship too serves as one of the Old Edwardian Wargames Club's main tools for development as more experienced players team up with less experienced players in order to pass on important playing and competition skills.

The championships shall start on both days at 9H00. The games shall be played on both Saturday and Sunday.

Entry fees are:     R50.00 per team.

Rules for the event can be found on our web-site being: http://www.oldedwardianwargames.freeservers.com/doubles.htm

ALL queries and entries must be submitted to Colin Webster at wargames@iafrica.com on or before 1 September 2009.

The Winter championships is far from being a conventional championship.

In the Ancients figure-gaming championships, each player works out an army of 600AP to the DBM version 3.1  rule sets. However, a player may not use more than 400 AP in any one game. All losses, except generals, are carried over from one game to the next. Troops that rout off table count as lost. The championship is only played to four rounds. Other MSSA competition rules apply.

Standard MSSA rules apply for both Draughts and Morabaraba.

The Championship is open to all players, even if they are not registered to MIND SPORTS SOUTH AFRICA.

Entry fees:                    Figure-gamers - R36.00
                                              Board-gamers -  R18.00
